Payne County court records in Oklahoma are available through several channels. PayneCourt.us allows you to search for public information about court cases in the county. Payne Court System & Jurisdictions

Payne County is part of the 9th Judicial District of Oklahoma. The main judicial institution is the District Court of Payne County, located at the Payne County Courthouse at:

606 S. Husband St., Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074
Phone: (405) 372-4883

The District Court handles a wide range of cases:

  • Criminal cases — from felonies to misdemeanors, including cases referred by the District Attorney of the 9th District
  • Civil cases — lawsuits, contract disputes, debt collection
  • Family cases — divorces, child custody, alimony, protective orders
  • Probate — the process of settling estates and appointing guardians
  • Small claims — lawsuits for small amounts, where parties usually represent themselves
  • Traffic violations — fines for speeding and other traffic citations

The city of Stillwater has a separate Municipal Court, which handles violations of city ordinances, parking fines, and some traffic violations within the city limits. This court is administered by the Municipal Court Division under the leadership of Judge Tanya C. Raun. If you fail to appear at a municipal court hearing, your driver's license may be suspended, and a warrant for your arrest may be issued.

For state-level criminal history checks, OSBI CHIRP provides access to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation database.

Payne Court Calendar & Upcoming Hearings

To find out the schedule of court hearings for today, tomorrow, or the current week, use the Oklahoma State Courts Network (OSCN) system at www.oscn.net. Select "Payne" from the list of counties — the system will show scheduled hearings with dates, party names, and case numbers.

For the Stillwater Municipal Court, the current hearing schedule is available through the Court Clerk's Office of the city of Stillwater. Contact the clerk directly for details regarding a specific date.

Several practical tips:

  1. Check the schedule in advance — hearings are sometimes rescheduled or canceled
  2. For Sheriff Sales, dates and times are listed separately on the sheriff's office website; by default, sales are held at 10:00 a.m. at the courthouse
  3. If you are interested in an inmate's status or their court date, use the inmate search on the Payne County Sheriff's Office website

By Mail

Send a written request to the Court Clerk's address, specifying the case number, party names, and type of document needed. Include payment in the form of a money order.

Certified vs. uncertified: a regular (uncertified) copy is suitable for review. If the document is needed for another court, government agency, or official procedure, order a certified copy with the clerk's seal.

To obtain police reports, Stillwater PD provides public versions of reports according to the Oklahoma Open Records Act (Title 51, Section 24A.5). Full reports require a separate request through the Police Records page. Sheriff's office records are processed through the Records Division of the sheriff's office.
